IELTS is an exam to analyze English Language efficiency of an individual. One needs to improve Grammar, vocabulary, word order to build a strong foundation. Tips to get high score will only work if your English level is good. Examiners mark the test by looking at various aspects of your language skills. These factors can be improved by following various tips.

Tips to score high in IELTS Exam

  • To improve listening ability it is better to familiarize with the phonetics, situation and to whom you are listening to. You can continue listening unless you get any question related to the subject.
  • Now focus on the pauses being made between the discussions and make your questionnaire.
  • Now find the answers to the questions framed from the discussion listened so far.
  • Check your answers with reference to the discussion and analyze your observations and views.
  • Also check the spellings and grammar of the matter being written by you. It will help you frame the correct grammar structure of the English Language for future.
  • While reading identify the features like theme, tone, purpose and for what type of readers it has been framed.
  • Don’t try to understand the meaning of every word or phrases rather edit the matter to be conveyed.
  • Read the instructions carefully before you start writing. Write in your own words and avoid unnecessary words. Maintain the word limit as instructed.
  • Keep the theme in mind and prepare the matter and do not go out of the subject.
  • Link your ideas and sentences effectively to analyze your ideas by the examiner.
  • You may or may not write less than or more than the word limit but the ideas must be conveyed properly.
  • Allow plenty of time for the essay to be checked after you have written. Maintain the adequate speed.
  • For speaking skills never give a prepared speech try to discuss extempore. It boosts the confidence.
  • Speak to the Examiner while giving speaking test rather than focusing on the recording equipment.
  • Give proper reasons for saying YES or NO to the questions being asked by the Examiner.
